Koloina, a member of Foko blogging at http://gasykool.wordpress.com/, took the initiative to discover Malagasy ingeniosities and share them to the world. He met Toky in Ivandry where this 11 year-old boy is using his skills and his little tools to build toys for his friends in the neighborhood. His parents who are selling traditional medicines on the market said he is fond of cartoons, enjoys riding his bicyles and is very serious about his "job". Most of the time he makes cars but also used the versatility of the materials he uses (recycled cans, nails, wood) to make other models with the same pieces and wishes to expand creations. There was one Pastor called PAPU who is from South Africa taught us about thankfulness. Why is it so important to be thankful? He said in life there are many reasons we should be thankful wether to God or to one person specifically. But we make sure that we love the giver more than the gifts. In that case, even if we lose the gifts the relationship will still remain and that why we the Malagasy people when we give something we always say Aza ny hakelezanny fanomezana no jerena fa ny fô manolotra or Ny fô manotra no mameno azy!.

and his life is very different from ours
He is 14 today
As we can see on the video he is a beggar
He lives in Anosizato with his mother and little sisters and brothers
He only comes to Analakely where he can find
business men and tourists,
so this is why he always goes downtown
We have nothing, he said
this is why I have to beg
When I receive money it goes to food
"I receive less than 1000 Ariary per day" admits Dominique
If you convert in foreign currency
He only earns 0.5 dollars everyday
This young boy started begging on the street since he was 9
He went to school long ago but has to leave in T3 (4th grade)

Educational Tree Planting in Mandialaza

“Mandialaza is one of the rural districts where Fanamby is involved in the implementation of the “Forrest road Project in Anjozorobe - Angavo.
Twenty kilometers before arriving at Mandialaza lies the rural community of Ambohidronono, one of the village surrounding the protected area of Anjozorobe-Angavo where more than 500 students from two Public Primary Schools (EPP) planted 1500 tangerine tree roots. This was one of the end of the year event for their schools. This is a partnership between the associations Madagascar and FANAMBY, for a “green outing ” which goal is to sensitize the schoolchildren from both EPP about the problems of deforestation and at the same time, enable them to experience the joy of planting a tree.
